The Happiest Place on Earth

Today we went to Disneyland with Grandma Koss! Even though it was very crowded and hot (90 degrees), we still had a blast.

Grandma waiting in the line for the "Its a Small World" ride.

Video clips of Willa during "Its a Small World".

Daddy, Willa & Grandma waiting in line for "The Pirates of the Caribbean" ride. Taking her on this ride may have been a bad call on our part...She got scared a couple times and was crying. Oops.

Nap in her stroller during lunch. Perfect timing.

Mommy & Daddy on "Thunder Mountain" while Grandma watched the bean.

Playing with her new Disney princess toys on the drive home. We bought her this cool set that has Arial, the Sleeping Beauty, Bell, Snow White, and Cinderella. She kept looking at them and smiling.

8 Months Old

The Willa Bean is 8 months old today...2/3 of a year old! These photo shoots are getting more and more difficult. It takes a circus to distract her from wanting to grab the piece of paper...and the pictures are a bit blurry because it is nearly impossible to get her to sit still.

She actually ate a chunk of this paper...I couldn't get it out of her mouth fast enough.

Things about Willa at 8 Months Old

1.) She is not crawling yet, but she is SO close! I thought she was going to today. She scooted around her whole bedroom by herself, but I wouldn't call it a crawl...
2.) She claps her hands on command. It is so cool!
3.) She continues to laugh and smile a lot.
4.) She mimics us whenever we blow raspberries.
5.) She has seemed a little more frustrated lately. I think she is just ready and wanting to crawl/walk.
6.) No teeth yet! The doctor thinks they will probably all come in at once.
7.) Her hair is growing very slowly and it seems to be getting blonder (Koss genes).
8.) She has gone down in height/weight from the 95th percentile to the 75th percentile.
9.) She is amazingly good. She is so good at going with the flow, and welcoming new people and experiences.
10.) She is eating lots of finger foods. She is not crazy about being spoon fed by us- She would rather feed herself.
11.) She gets really excited when we pick her up to dance. In her "Baby Signing Time" video, there is a segment called "The Diaper Dance". She loves to dance to this song and watch the other babies dance!
12.) Her naps have gotten a little better, but she is still a pretty bad sleeper at night.
13.) She likes to chew and suck on frozen washcloths. I think it soothes her gums.
14.) She has been loving drinking water out of a sippy cup.
15.) Eddie is still one of her favorite things! He is sure to put several smiles on her face every day.

I can't wait to see what this next month brings. She is changing so fast and her personality keeps getting cuter and cuter. She's a little person now.

Here are some pictures from the past couple of days:

We took lots of walks this weekend...We wanted to drive as little as possible as it was "Carmegeddon"in LA, where they shut down a chunk of the 405. There was supposed to be unbelievable traffic issues, but it ended up not being bad at all.

We went to our friends' (Colleen and Matt...they have 1 year old twins) parent's house in Brentwood yesterday. They had a pool and lots of fun toys for Willa to play with. We swam, ordered pizza and just hung out. It was a lot of fun...and they had a beautiful house.

Stroller ride to Starbucks. Daddy is still fighting jet lag, so there has been lots of coffee around here.

Napping with daddy. She is so happy to have him home from Cambodia.

At the Brentwood Country Mart for Frida's tacos today for lunch. She was wearing her cute new hat from Sarah and Sheila.

Joshua Tree

This past weekend, we went to Joshua Tree for Sarah's (aka "Uncle Carl") 30th birthday. Sarah rented an amazing house in an amazing setting, as you will see from these pictures. It was a great weekend with good friends, lots of laughs, beautiful landscapes, and some really HOT weather. The only thing missing from the trip was Daddy, who gets back from Cambodia tomorrow. YAY!!!

On our drive to Joshua Tree

Aunt Kristy and Willa. Kristy flew in from Cleveland to join the birthday festivities.

James and Eddie (brothers and best buds) under an outdoor table at a Burger King...Fast food on the road.

Cool windmills near Palm Springs

Finally there...playing with her toys.

Hanging out on the porch after exploring our surroundings of the house.

Willa, Carter and I after dinner at Pappy & Harriet's...It was the coolest local bar/restaurant.

Willa and the birthday girl

The outside of the house. We loved hanging out on the porch in the evening once the temperatures lowered.

Sheila and Mrs. Gordon cooked a delicious Mexican dinner.

Here is a link of a photo montage that Sarah put together that has some incredible pictures from the weekend:

Thanks Sarah and Kristy for taking such awesome pictures that I could steal for this post. :)

Moonshadows

Nana's in town! We celebrated Auntie Patti's birthday by going to Moonshadows in Malibu. Its one of our favorite places to go! Good food, good drinks, and right on the ocean...

It was the most gorgeous day, and we truly had an awesome time.

Chocolate bread pudding for the birthday girl (and us...)

Willa couldn't have been a better girl. She ate finger foods, played with toys and loved all of the attention from everyone at the restaurant.

She's thinking "this is the life...".

The only thing missing from the perfect day was Daddy :(...Next time!
